People often ask what kind of travel site I'm building.

I always pause before I answer.

Because the honest answer is that I'm not really building a travel site at all.

The older I get, the more I realize the relationships that matter most are never static. They evolve with every stage of life, and time together becomes something you choose instead of something that simply happens.

That's what this guide is really about.

The destination matters. But only because it creates the conditions for something else.

As I've researched and written these guides, I've noticed a pattern. The places mothers and daughters remember most aren't always the busiest or the most luxurious. They're the places that leave room for long breakfasts, quiet walks, unhurried conversations, and afternoons without an agenda.

That's the only filter that matters.

The best trips don't just change where you've been. They deepen the relationship you come home to.

Next destination
Marfa, Texas. Three trips in, still not sure it belongs in the guide. The art is exceptional. The logistics are hard. Still deciding whether that's a reason to include it or exclude it.
What changed my mind
I almost didn't include Savannah. Thought it would feel too touristy. Then I spent a morning at Bonaventure Cemetery and an evening at The Grey and reconsidered everything.
On the waitlist
Porto. Copenhagen. The Berkshires. All pending research. All on the list for reasons I'll explain when the guides are ready.
"If you leave thinking 'Ojai looks nice' — we've failed.
If you leave thinking 'I need to call her' — we've done our job."
